Architectural joinery is the umbrella term used to describe the timber components used across the structure of a building. They are common in modern properties, as well as in older buildings. The term refers to everything from beams to door frames.
Joiners are traditionally the craftspeople who design and make these components – and still do so today. At Bodnant Joinery, we are experts in all aspects of architectural joinery.
Joiners are skilled artisans who create items by ‘joining’ wood together. This is normally completed in a workshop with carpenters installing the item into its final resting place. Although this is the distinction between joiner and carpenter, our expert joiners will often install structural components themselves. Both are skilled craftspeople and the finish of installation will always be to the same high standard.

From window frames, door frames, staircases, roof trusses to beams, any timber component within a building can be designed, made and installed by our expert joiners. Working in residential and commercial properties across the UK, we also offer high-end architectural joinery as part of restoration projects too.
At our base in the Conwy Valley, our joiners create the component pieces of architectural joinery projects, including bespoke staircases. Transporting these pieces to your property or project base, our joiners will then carefully assemble and install them.
Quality assurance is a driving component throughout the process. This starts with producing detailed plans for a project as well as selecting the best wood. We only use timber from managed woodlands so you can be assured that the environment is not being damaged.
